An image of an Inuit hunter lying in wait for his prey, blue mountains in the background. Rex Kangoak Goose was one of the early artists trained at the Ulukhaktuk Arts Centre in Ulukhaktuk, Northern Territories, Canada. At that time the town and center were called Holman, and one of the chops in the image bears the shape of the ulu, a traditional semi-circular iron blade with a wooden handle, surrounding the word "HOLMAN".
Goose's father and grandmother, Bill Goose and Agnes Nanogak, were both respected artists in their own right and encouraged young Rex to pursue visual arts. He is known for his carved miniatures of Inuit people and culture, animals, and other representations of life in the Arctic.
