"Texas Dancing" was originally titled "Country Couple" when it was printed between November 26, 1979 and January 25, 1980 at Hand Graphics in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The lithograph was printed by the artist and Eric Lindgrun at Hand Graphics in an edition of 100, "A one-run lithograph printed in brown ink from an aluminum plate, executed with litho crayon." There were additional proofs: 1 B.A.T.;10 Artist's Proofs; 8 Hand Graphics Impressions; 2 Printers Proofs, and one Cancellation Proof.
It appears that many of these single color lithographs were then hand colored by the artist, often with added notes to the purchasers. This impression is pencil annotated "H.C." which, in this case, refers to "hand colored." No two images are the same. There was an additional edition of 32 impressions printed with foil and papier collé added and then also hand colored. The Hand Graphics work number is 79-89L.
This impression is from the estate of Adeliza McHugh, founder of the 'Candy Store Gallery' in Folsum, California who did an exhibit for Jimenez in 1983. Jimenez likely hand colored this impression for her to exhibit in the show.
