A noted portrait of French artist brothers Tony (1803-1852) and Alfred (1800-1837) Johannot, done in 1832 and published in L'Artiste, a weekly fine arts and literature review, 1831-1904. The brothers were primarily know for their engraved book illustrations and often collaborated on images, signed them "Johannot Freres." The brothers also published work in L'Artiste and Le Charivari.
