Description
This lithograph is from number 6 from a series of 20 lithographs Chamberlain did of Paris in 1924. He worked with the Parisian printer Gaston Dorfinant to produce the portfolio, "Vingt Lithographies du Vieux Paris" which he published himself. The tower of L'Horloge, with its large clock, is located on the Ile de la Cité with the Concierge and the Palais de Justice, not far from Notre Dame cathedral. The clock, the oldest public clock in Paris, was installed in the 14th century.
