Description
In 1915, the year before his death, the American wood engraver won the Grand Prize for his printmaking at the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. The Wolf prints we have were available for sale at the PPIE and many were the actual prints exhibited and have the label from the PPIE. This woodengraving was done after American painter Gilbert Stuart's portrait of 1800 of Mrs. George Plumstead (Anna Helena Amelia Ross, 1776 - 1846) which is in the collection of the Pennsylvania Acadamy of the Fine Arts.
