Description
This is an illustration for Ovid's Metamorphasis. The Cyclops Polyphemus (son of Poseidon and Thoosa) the sea nymph Galatea for whom he killed his rival Acis. The image is opposite of the image of Polyphemus as a cannibal that was described in the Odyssey.
