Description
Burkhardt began teaching at California State University at Long Beach, in 1958. From there he held regular teaching positions at USC, UCLA, the Otis College of Art and Design, and California State University at Northridge. He also continued to develop and show his work, which now often involved assemblages, to much acclaim. Burkhardt died in Los Angeles in 1994.
