Kalmia, foliis lanceoato is plate CCXXVIII from Figures of the Most Beautiful, Useful, and Uncommon Plants, The Gardener's Dictionary.,
Kalmia, foliis lanceoato was engraved by J.S. Miller after a drawing by Richard Lancake and it was published in a folio as a follow-up to Miller’s The Gardener’s Dictionary, which was not fully illustrated. This was a major botanical work by Philip Miller (1691-1771) who was the chief gardener at the Chelsea Physic Garden and a member of the Botanic Academy of Florence.
There were 300 engraved plates (mostly hand-colored) after various artists, including Lancake.
