A rare gouache and graphite drawing Baumann did of San Francisco from the Twin Peaks area, in 1935. Baumann would create these gouaches, on a dark brown paper, in prepartation of a woodcut. They were not usually signed and, if he did a print from the drawing, it was usually damaged in the process. This work is from a series of gouaches he exhibited as "Random Sketches from Here and There." He cut his own mats and signed the mat, as with this work.
