Noted Chamberlain on page 134 in In a Modern Rendering: The Color Woodcuts of Gustave Baumann" about this two-color portrayal of a fishing hut tucked into a rural landscape, "The locale is north of Lincoln Park, when the area, bordering on the city of Chicago, was undeveloped. In 1908, the Baumann family home was located in the vicinity, at 1539 Geroge Street."
