A tireless experimentalist, Bothwell would often utilize whatever mediums she had on hand to create new works, especially as she transitioned from realistic to abstract art. Here, she has cut out a halftone-printed ad featuring a bowl of fruit from a magazine drawn over the surface in an abstract pattern, perfhaps as a study for a future serigraph.
