Description
A surreal image done in 1937 in the Federal Arts Project, WPA in a small edition, under 25.
Jerre H. Murry was born in Columbia, Missouri on May 22, 1904, and later studied at the Detroit Academy of Art. In the 1930s Murry moved to Los Angeles where he worked for the Federal Art Project as a muralist.
He exhibited for the Federal Art Project at LACMA in 1925, Stendahl Gallery located in Los Angeles in 1937, the New York World's Fair in 1939, and the Foundation of Western Art in Los Angeles in 1940.
Majority of his work was done and exhibited in Los Angeles, California, and there he died on September 7, 1973.
