Description
Art Hazelwood cleverly uses two identical-sounding words, "captial" and "capitol," as titles to emphasize two opposing ideologies in a singular image, which can be hung in either direction. In one half of the sheet, titled "Sieze the Capital," he's rendered a group of everyday citizens helping each other stand and fight back against profiteers, the slogan "People Over Profits" written on a handheld sign. In the other half, the profiteers themselves take center stage as they play a game of chess whose pieces are comprised of missiles, tanks, and the Statue of Liberty. As always, Art Hazelwood's artwork remains germane long after its initial execution.
