In his book 'Printmaking in New Mexico' Clinton Adams notes: "many of Cassidy's early lithographs were printed by the Latham Litho & Printing Co. of Long Island, NY. By 1918 or 1919, however, he had his own lithography press and stones in Santa Fe and did much of his own printing." page 143.
An image of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Cordova, New Mexico. Cassidy depicts a classic New Mexican scene with an adobe structure and dramatic sky, as three figures walk to mass.
The remote adobe church, built in 1832, holds numerous stunning altar screens and wooden saints carved and painted by Jose Rafael Aragon (1795 - 1862). These works were restored in 2021-'22, and the church itself has been renovated over the years, including an improved roof and belfry. However, the church is threatened with closure due to a dwindling congregation and expensive upkeep.
