"Forest Primeval" was shown at the California Society of Etchers exhibit in 1933 at the de Young Museum in San Francisco and it won the open award for the best print in any medium other than etching. It was included in the Ninth Annual Exhibiton of American Block Prints sponsored by the Print Club of Philadelphia in March 1935. This work was also shown at the 1939 exhibition American Art Today, New York World's Fair, and is illustrated in the catalogue of the show.
