Description
One of his last color woodblocks this impression of "Pears" is illustrated in the catalogue raisonné of Rist's work as number 37b. Rist used 4 blocks which, together with the working drawing and proofs are in the Philadelphia Museum.
The artist printed 2 editions of "Pears" in 1959 - the first an edition of 60 (this impression is numbered 35) and a second edition of 73 as a Christmas greeting in October, shortly before his death.
