Description

Also known as "Entrance to Mytton Hall, Lancashire" this image was included in the portfolio "Etudes à l'Eau-forte par Francis Seymour Haden."

Mytton Hall (Mitton Hall) is a hotel located at Whalley near Blackburn, Lancashire, England in the heart of the Ribble Valley and is where Haden stayed while fly fishing.

Though small and early in Haden's long career, "Mytton Hall" is one of his most noted works with the sharp contrasts and dappled light.
