To make her untitled relief print, Frieda Dean uses paper as her matrix; paper that has been cut into shapes and then coated with a gel to allow the inks to "sit" on the paper rather than being absorbed by it. Dean places her color infused paper matrixes onto a sheet of paper and then places another sheet of paper on top before running them through the press. With this process she is able to produce two uniquely different prints at one time.
