Description
who is better known under his other name, Hiroyuki Tajima which he used to create his abstract, colored dye saturated woodcuts. Kiyoshi Nagai, who is better known under his other name, Hiroyuki Tajima which he used to create his abstract, colored dye saturated woodcuts.(see 'Modern Japanese Prints' by Frances Blakemore). The artist was born in Tokyo and had studied Western painting at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He started with woodblock prints in 1946. Kiyoshi Nagai used the name Hiroyuki Tajima for his more abstract, modern prints and Kiyoshi Nagai for figurative landscape prints. His usual edition size was 50. He took part in the International Tokyo Print Biennale and was a member of the Japanese Print Association (JPA).
