An accordion-style livre d'artiste by Holly Downing in collaboration with Melissa Wagner-Lawler and poets Forrest Gander, Jane Hirshfield, Anna Journey, Christine Boyka Kluge, Ted Kooser, W. S. Merwin, Gary Snyder, Joseph Stroud, and Gary Young. A collection of images and poems that celebrate the magical life & death idiocrasy of fungi. The mezzotints were printed on Downing’s Rochat etching press on Rives BFK white with the assistance of Valden Rattenbury. The text was letterpress printed by Melissa Wagner-Lawler on Rives BFK gray in Hoefler Text. Wagner-Lawler bound the pages in an accordion-fold. This book is housed in a Dubletta cloth-bound, magnet-drop spine box with Cave paper. The box measures approximately 10 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 2 inches. As presented, the mezzotints are Bird’s Nests, Morels, Chanterelle, Amanita muscaria, Boletus edulus, Turkey Tail, and Judah’s Ear.
