Description
French-born Isabelle Proust was trained as a photographer and developed an interest in European frescos, which inspired her imagery in other media. Nautile III is a drypoint, an intaglio made unique by layering colors on the plate or touching inks to the surface of the printed image. The colors add to the ethereal quality of the image, an image where a female form emerges from the large nautilus shell suggesting life springing forth from the ocean depths.
