Description
Menneville is likely the Italian sculptor Ugo Cirpriani, who used his lover Madelaine Bouchetot de Menneville's surname to hide his identity when he fled from Italy's Fascist regime in the mid 1930s. Similar scuptures signed "Menneville et Rochard" refer to the collaboration between Menneville and the French sculptor Irenee Rochard, both of whom worked with the Silvin foundry.
