Description
Using a combination of lithography, monotype and drawing, John Gruenwald creates a mysterious image of a woman entering a sloping, ambiguous room. Dressed in a long black dress she tilts at an angle, framed by the door and doorway.
John Gruenwald has printed as a professional printer for other artists and for his own work. He continues to be experimental in his approach as he does in this work, which starts with a lithographic image, adds an inked monotype plate and finishes the image by drawing with graphite.
There are 3 other images with the lithograph base but the monotype and drawing are different.
