Three dimensional forms emerge like organic structures from the dark in Edward Armen Stasack’s collagraph “Creation”. A noted “rock art” - or petroglyph - enthusiast, Stack no doubt found inspiration in the works of ancient civilizations rendered in geological formations throughout the world. It is likely rooted in his interest in creationism as a visual subject: where things began, and who created them.
Stasack was a member of the American Rock Art Research Association, the Hawaii Rock Art Association, of which he served as emeritus president, and of the Australian Rock Art Association. He was also a member of the Sharlot Hall Museum in Prescott, Arizona, whose principal aim was to preserve historic and ancient artifacts of the Southwest.
