Description
This oil on canvas is by the woodblock artist W. Corwin Chase who, with his brother Waldo S. Chase lived in a tepee on Mt. Ranier in the 1920's. Their adventure is chronicled in the book "Tepee Fires". This view of Ranier, painted from "the back side" as I have been told, done by the man who knew the mountain best.
