Description
A jubilant intaglio by pioneering printmaker Frank Lobdell, who by 1991 had been working in the medium for nearly five decades. This piece exemplifies his ease with the manipulation of the matrix, coaxing subtle gradations of green and yellow in the background while drawing nimble, kinetic formations across its surface. Lobdell rarely, if ever, delved into representational work, preferring instead to create from a place of pure expression.
