Description
Leboit's background in psychology twinned his background in art, and his pursuit of both subjects are expressed in his extensive body of work, where the extremes of the human condition are shown side by side. Here, a tongue in cheek perspective of a gentleman of leisure contrasts with the majority of American reality during the time of this work's execution: the Great Depression. Leboit made this when he was employed by the Works Progress Administration, and has the stamp of the New York WPA in the lower left margin.
