"Lanterns" was exhibited at the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. Gravlos/Pulin found evidence of at least twenty-three impressions. Over those twenty-three impressions, Lum experimented with hues, saturation of the inks, and printing or not printing certain areas of her blocks.

This impression of Lanterns has very subtle coloration and an overall blue tonality. Orange adds lights to the white lanterns and the reflections of the lanterns in the water are unprinted
