Costa Rica born Mexican printmaker Francsico Zuniga did his first lithographs at Editions Press in San Francisco in 1972, encouraged by his friend and Editions Press master printer Ernesto De Soto who worked with him through the whole process.
"Woman... with Oranges" was Zuniga's eighth lithograph, published by Editions Press and printed by Ernesto De Soto. This was done in 1973 at the same time he did two works for the "Mexican Masters Suite" which included two lithographs each by Zuniga, Siqueiros, Tamayo and Cuevas. This image was printed to the edges of the sheet and has the blind-stamp chops of the publisher and printer.
The full edition consisted of 100 published proofs, 10 artist's proofs, 10 Editions Press proofs, 1 Editions Press Artist's Proof, 4 dedicated proofs, 2 Printer's Proofs and 1 Cancellation Proof, for a grand total of 128. This impression is the 10th of 10 Editions Press Impressions (E.P.I. 10) and was owned by one the the partners in Editions Press.
