Description
This impression is llustrated on page 78 of "Crayonstone - The Life and Work of Bolton Brown" by Clinton Adams. In 1924 Brown commented about this print: "In Italy was a little holding of land - 'five fields' - she told me herself, holding up her spread hand. She helped work them - this peasant girl. This is a drawing of her very beautiful body. The print is in red and of extreme tenderness....No commercial ink will print like this-...[made by] an ink maker [who] ground in specified varnishes mineral pigments brought to him by mr."
