Sandy Walker created a variety of images of pine trees while visting the state of Georgia in 1979. Said Walker of the works: '"The Pine Series" are lithographic prints, first drawn on transfer paper, then transferred to aluminum plates and printed at the Printmakers Workshop in New York City. The BAT’s were printed there by Robert Blackburn, the editions were printed by one of his assistants, Cheryl Dudek. The original images were drawn en plein air, on Sea Island, GA, during a two month residency there in 1979. The title “Pine" is intended to have a double meaning.'
