Description
Sylvia Solochek Walters' coaxes a delicate complexity from the woodblock in her print "Sunday Afternoon...” Walters' prolific artistic career began at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she received her B.S., M.S., and M.F.A. In addition to printmaking and drawing, Walters studied bookmaking. Walters' went on to teach throughout the U.S., founding the art department at the University of Missouri at St. Louis, and holding the position of chair at the art department for San Francisco State University from 1984 to 2004.
