This print is annotated on the verso by Virginia Adams: "Number 68 / Yosemite Falls / Yosemite National Park" and is stamped in a purple ink "Photograph by Ansel Adams." An early exhibition label was removed from the verso. This was part of a collection of early Ansel Adams prints that were from the collection of Bill Quandt who rented a house in San Francisco from Ansel and Virginia Adams in the mid 1940's while studying with Adams at the San Francisco Art Institute and assisting him with printing at home. Quandt and Minor White were hired by the Art Institute to teach photography when Adams left. Much of Quandt's collection was sold by the Annex Galleries in April of 1986.
