Description
The location of this print is Mosley Street, Wichita, Kansas. Capps notes that the image was "sketched after a light snow, a few days before Christmas, which suggested the title, turned into an evening rendering to provide better contrast with the snow."
Capps uses the effects that can be achieved using aquatint with broad tonal areas of varying grays and blacks, adding a few etched lines for definition. The result is the magical light of a snowy landscape, viewed by the light of the moon.
This impression is from the collection of artist John Kelly.
